The very first barometer was developed during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Using a structured electronic form in the EMD (eForm, Corilus), general practices could report their need for support, workload, and need for protective equipment daily. This data was used at various levels (such as circles and primary care zones) to guide policy.
Rudimentary epidemiological data was also collected. For example, the number of consultations conducted daily and the proportion of consultations due to respiratory complaints were reported. For this first barometer, no automated AUDIT was used yet. Feedback was provided at the various policy levels. This project ran from March 2020 to August 2020.
